I just invented a new form of vision board!

Do you have one of those digital photo frames that have become so popular? I just got one (for free with points from one of those store loyalty programs… woohoo!) and I’ve just come up with a new idea.

I originally chose the digital photo frame so I could have my favourite, feel-good photos close to me. So the original intention behind getting the frame was already to use it as a manifestational tool. However, I’ve combined some techniques that many people are already using. I’m doing a combination of Feng Shui, vision boards and Mind Movies. Here’s the breakdown of what I’m doing:

Feng Shui: I’ve put the digital photo frame in the wealth corner of my bedroom. I may move this to my personal success corner in a couple weeks, but I like it beside my bed right now. I’m leaving the frame turned on, in slideshow mode, so that even when I’m not actually LOOKING at it, the intention is still creating energy.

Vision Board & Mind Movies: Mind movies are a mini music video that you create using photos you find inspiring, combined with words and phrases/affirmations. The idea behind the Mind Movie is to view it once or twice a day as a guided visualization. What I’m doing for my digital vision board is I’ve taken photos I like and combined them with text slides with inspirational words. I use some photos I’ve taken myself, photos that I’m in, and also photos I’ve found online of places I want to visit, things I’d like to have, or activities I want to experience. Then I place the text slides in amongst the photos so that whenever I look over at my digital frame, there are inspirational photos and phrases waiting for me. I also like to look at the frame for a couple minutes as I’m about to drift off to sleep.

I just started using this technique and I’m still playing around with it. I’ll keep you posted on the results!!

Happy New Year!!!

Awesome idea, and just what a client of mine had just asked me about! (That’s why I eagerly DM’d you when you tweeted about it.) Clearly an idea whose time has come….

I’m happy to share a link to this post with my client, thanks!

Also seeking recommendations of tools for making vision boards online. (Something with a large bank of images that are searchable by keyword, flexible ways of assembling collages of images and text, ease of use, not too expensive…) Ideas?

    Appreciatively,
    Pamela

I’ve never used an online vision board program but hopefully someone reading this post will be able to respond and help you out. A good way to find photos by keyword is to use http://www.flickr.com – the images belong to other people but if it’s just for your own private use it shouldn’t be a problem to use them.
